Issue with TrialDays Disappearing When Editing Subscription

Dear Zoho Support Team,

I encountered an issue while editing a subscription in Zoho Billing, and I would appreciate your assistance in resolving it.

Issue Description:

  1. I created a subscription with a future StartDate and set TrialDays > 0.
  2. The activation date was calculated as StartDate + TrialDays when the subscription was created.
  3. However, when I edit the subscription later, I noticed that:
    • The TrialDays field is no longer available in the UI.
    • Without making any modifications, I clicked "Submit" to save the subscription.
    • After saving, I found that StartDate changed to the Activation Date (TrialDays became 0).
    • As a result, the trial period was removed, which is not my intended behavior.

Expected Behavior:

  • When editing a subscription, the TrialDays value should be retained instead of being reset to 0.
  • The StartDate should not automatically change to the Activation Date when saving the subscription.

Questions:

  1. Is this the expected behavior in Zoho Billing?
  2. Is there a way to retain the TrialDays value when editing a subscription via UI?
  3. If the UI does not support editing TrialDays, can we manually update it using the API without affecting the StartDate?

I would appreciate any guidance on how to handle this situation correctly.
