Zeptomail - Issues with Joomla extension on Joomla 4.4.x installations

Hello,

the Zeptomail Joomla extension doesn't work after upgrading to 4.4.x versions of Joomla, while I tested it working on a Joomla 4.3.x one. I read that on 4.4 they changed how the PHPmailer works in preparation of v5.0, so the extension needs to be updated for the newer versions.

The error that pointed me to this is the following, when trying to configure the plugin:
  1. Joomla\CMS\Mail\MailerFactory::createMailer(): Return value must be of type Joomla\CMS\Mail\MailerInterface, Joomla\CMS\Mail\Mail returned
Is it possible to temporarily fix this by editing the plugin code? Or should it require a lot of rewrite and then the only option is waiting for an official release? We have several sites that need this update and it's not possible to downgrade to Joomla 4.3.
Anyone has the same issue? Have you found a workaround?
