Missing emails after IMAP synchronization

Missing emails after IMAP synchronization

Hi!

Yesterday, we shifted one of our employees from POP to IMAP. After sync is done, multiple emails were missing and disappeared without a trace. The missing emails are not in spam, trash, archives, or anywhere else to be found. Emails saved to other folders were preserved.

How can we recover those lost emails?
How can we make sure that this does not happen again?
