Problem adding a phone number to a contact

Hi,

I am unable to add a valid Australian phone number to a contact via the contacts page (Edit Contact Details.) I can add it via a phone that syncs with msync.

The problem is that I can't then edit the contact via the contact page as it says "Invalid Phone Number "‪+61 415 XXX XXX" specified"

What is the problem and how do we fix it?
