I operate in Japan and we cannot use online payments with the banks here, also there are bank transaction fees, with VAT (consumer tax) deducted, on both the paying and payments received, and these vary. So you can well imagine the time taken to manually record end of month invoice and bill payments, including recording separate expenses for all the bank transfer transaction fees. I've pleaded with zoho to at least let us associate "bank fees" for both payments and payments received and include the ability to apply a consumer tax, but to no avail so far.

I'm now ready to pay someone to help me automate more, and wonder if I'll be able to use APIs to pull the invoice or bill data into an app and send it back to record a payment. Or does someone have another suggestion as a workaround?
