Smarter data gathering with Query component in Wizards

Smarter data gathering with Query component in Wizards

Dear All,

Introducing the Query Component in Wizards for CRM! A smart search field that saves you time and effort, and helps you manage and gather data more efficiently than ever before.

Long and complex record entries can be overwhelming and prone to errors. That's where wizards come in handy. They provide an intuitive data collection method by breaking down lengthy forms into manageable sections.

Wizards already supported text and widget components. We've now powered it with the all-new Query component.

What is the Query component?

The Query component in Wizards is designed to aid users in managing and gathering data more efficiently by providing predetermined actions based on the results of a search query. The Query component operates as a search field with a search parameter and a preset comparator, which is subsequently matched against a field in the current or related module.

Just enter your search criteria, and the Query component will perform actions based on the results!

When matching records are found, you can configure actions such as:
  • Selecting a record from eligible options and saving it in a lookup field,
  • Navigating to a specific screen,
  • Displaying widgets or popup messages,
  • Displaying in-line messages within a field, and so on.

In cases where the search fails to find any matching records, the Query component provides the flexibility to create new records in the current or related modules, in addition to the actions described above.

Each action within the Query component can include static sub-criteria, allowing you to determine when the action should be triggered.

Furthermore, the Query component can be repurposed across any wizard within the same module. While the actions section can be customized, the target field and comparator aspects of the Query component remain consistent.

Functionalities of the query component

The Query component includes various functionalities that can be used in different ways. For instance, the system can check for free delivery availability when a user enters a pin code, and the resulting message can be shown inline to the field or in a pop-up. Similarly, the component can be used in the web check-in module, where the query is designed to find the passenger with a specific PNR in the passenger module and associate them with the check-in module status.

Points to be noted

  • Only one query component is allowed per screen, whereas each wizard can accommodate up to five query components.
  • A maximum of 3 query components can be created per module.
  • Each screen of the wizard should contain only one query component.
That's all about the enhancement. Let us know of your feedback and suggestions below.
