Design smoother presentations with Morph Transition

That's the thought that crosses your mind when a presentation flows so smoothly that you barely notice the slides changing. It feels polished, intentional, and far more engaging than a series of static slides.

The best part? It doesn't take hours of animation to create that effect.

This month's Spotlight is all about Morph Transition—create smooth, natural transformations between slides with just a few clicks.

What is Morph Transition?

Morph Transition automatically creates smooth animations between two slides, making the elements move naturally instead of changing all at once.

How it works

Finds similar objects

Morph looks for the same text, images, shapes, and other objects that appear on one slide and the next.

Animates the changes

If you've moved, resized, rotated, or edited those objects on the next slide, Morph automatically animates those changes instead of making them appear in their new position instantly.

Reduces manual work

Morph automatically creates the transition based on the changes you've made, saving you from setting up individual animations for each object.

Try it yourself

Creating a Morph transition is simple. Start with two consecutive slides that contain one or more matching objects, then move, resize, rotate, or edit those objects on the second slide to define how you want them to transform or move.

Next, select the second slide, open the Animate tab, and choose Morph. You can also adjust the transition duration to control the speed of the animation before previewing your presentation to see the effect in action.

Quick tip: Morph works best when only the elements you want your audience to notice are moving. Keeping the rest of the slide consistent helps maintain focus.

Note: Make sure similar elements have the same element name.

Interactive cards

Present information one section at a time by turning static cards into an interactive navigation experience. As each card smoothly expands into focus, your audience can easily follow along without losing the context of the overall slide.

Expanding tabs

Instead of displaying every detail at once, let individual tabs expand as you present. This naturally shifts your audience's attention from one topic to the next while keeping the rest of the layout familiar.

Dynamic comparison

Comparing two ideas doesn't always require a split-screen layout. Let one scene seamlessly transform into another, making it easy to highlight differences while maintaining visual continuity. This technique works well when comparing locations, concepts, environments, or different versions of the same idea.
