Every time there is an update for the app I am getting annoying notifications: "A new app update is available and it's being downloaded for you in background. You will get informed once done."

The problem is the download/update is never complete, and I am getting this pop-up notification non-stop until I manually download the new app from the website and update manually. 

What could be a problem on my end preventing the auto-update or is it a software shortfall?
