Hello everyone,
Our Copy Customization feature enables you to replicate customizations across various clients who share similar requirements.
We've made the following changes to remove some common friction points in this feature:



Copy customizations across different DCs

Previously, the source and target accounts had to be in the same DC for copying customizations, which made it harder to serve customers who had accounts in other DCs. You had to maintain source accounts in multiple DCs, which meant more effort and time.



Now you can reduce the number of source accounts, as you can copy a customization from a CRM org in one DC to an org in any other DC.


Apply copied customizations to customized CRM orgs after deleting configurations

Previously, you could only copy customizations to CRM orgs that had no existing customizations. Once a change was made, you couldn't carry out the process even if you deleted the change. Additionally, this was a one-time process; you couldn't initiate copy customization a second time for the same org.

Now you have more leeway when it comes to previously customized CRM orgs:
  • In an already-customized account, simply click the Delete Configuration button to ready your target account. This will remove all existing configurations.

  • Once cleared of configurations, you can initiate customization for that account.
  • A target account can be customized up to three times using Copy Customization. Previously, this could be done only once.

Use a system-generated key to receive customizations



To send customizations, you previously needed the customer's email address. Now you can ask them to generate a copy customization key in their account and share it with you. Once received, you can use this key to send the customization to the required org.



Note: This key is valid for 24 hours from the time of generation.

Automatically lock the CRM during customization to prevent human error

Once you initiate the customization, your CRM will be locked. Previously, customizations have failed when changes were made in the target account accidentally before the completion of the customization process. With the automatic lock, this source of failure has now been eliminated.
