Visibility and Enforcement for Outdated Plug Parameters in Zobot Canvas

Visibility and Enforcement for Outdated Plug Parameters in Zobot Canvas

Dear Zoho SalesIQ Team,

Greetings,

We’d like to suggest an important usability and quality improvement for working with Plugs inside Zobot.

Current Behavior:

When we update the code of an existing Plug, any Zobot card using that Plug requires manual resaving. If we open the relevant Plug card, we may see a message like:

“Update parameters for the latest version (v15)”

However:

  • This message is only visible if we manually open the card, and

  • There’s no indication on the canvas itself that a card is outdated.

  • It’s still possible to publish or republish the bot without resolving this, which can lead to broken behavior or unexpected errors.

Feature Request:

We propose the following enhancements:

  1. Show a clear visual indicator on the Zobot canvas (e.g., a warning badge or color change on affected cards) whenever a Plug used in a card is outdated and needs parameter updates.

  2. Prevent publishing or republishing the Zobot until all Plug-related issues are resolved and all cards are up to date.

  3. Optionally, include a summary alert at the top of the canvas listing any cards requiring attention.

Use Case:

This will help ensure:

  • Zobots are not accidentally published in a broken state.

  • Teams working on complex Zobots can quickly identify and resolve dependency issues after Plug updates.

  • Improved development speed and confidence when managing logic changes in production environments.

We believe this change would significantly improve the Zobot builder’s reliability and developer experience.

Thank you for your attention to this request.

Warm regards,
Ram
