How to track the source of form submissions using referrer names in Zoho Forms?

Ever wondered where your users are accessing your form links from? By tracking the origin of your form entries—whether it's from social media, email campaigns, direct links, or embedded on your website—you can identify which channels are driving the most engagement.

This knowledge allows you to focus your efforts on the platforms that work best, tailor your content to better suit your audience's preferences, and ultimately increase your forms' effectiveness.

Here's a simple way to identify the source of each submission by appending a referrer name to your form's permalink:

1. Go to the Share tab
  • Open Zoho Forms.
  • Navigate to the Share tab.

2. Copy your form permalink
  • Under Share with > Public, copy the form permalink.

3. Append the referrer name
  •  Append '?referrername=source' to the end of the link. For example, if your form link is 'https://forms.zoho.com/form123', modify it to:
  • For Facebook: https://forms.zoho.com/form123?referrername=Facebook
  • For Twitter: https://forms.zoho.com/form123?referrername=Twitter
  • For Newsletter: https://forms.zoho.com/form123?referrername=Newsletter

4. Insert or share the link
  • Insert this modified link on your website or share it with the relevant parties.

5. View the referrer name in your form entries
  • When a form is submitted via the provided link, the referrer names will be displayed in the All Entries section in a dedicated column, helping you easily identify the source of each submission.

Understanding where your form traffic comes from can help you tailor your marketing efforts and maximize engagement. Start tracking your form submission sources today and gain deeper insights into your audience!
