Announcing the deprecation of a few capabilities within Feeds | Zoho CRM

Dear Customers,

We hope you're well!

We are here with a recent update we made to the Feeds feature in Zoho CRM. We have deprecate the following capabilities from Feeds:
  • View inactive/ dormant records
  • View records followed by you
  • Auto-follow records
With these features, a user was able to view all records that hadn't made any progress lately, monitor records followed by them via a dedicated queue, and create rules to automatically follow records meeting certain criteria. While we agree these features added great value in terms of user productivity, we observed that the usage across organizations to be insufficient.
Thus, we have depreca them for all organizations. But, we do have some workarounds for you.

View inactive records using advanced filters:

If you have been using view inactive/ dormant records in Feeds module, you can use the following workaround:
  1. Go to the module whose inactive/dormant records you want to view. Let's say the "Leads" module, for example.
  2. In the advanced filter on the left, choose between the two filter parameters: touched records or untouched records, from the system-defined filters.
    1. Define the filter criteria and apply the filter to view records that are touched or untouched.

Monitor records followed by you from the record itself:

If you follow a record,

  1. You will be able to view that record
  2. Get active notifications from feeds in Signals whenever there is an update
  3. And, you can see a thumbnail of your profile image in the related list as followers.

Deprecation and retention criteria for auto-follow rules

The feature- auto-follow rules is deprecated from Feeds as well, but with an exception.
  1. For all new subscriptions, auto-follow rules will not be available.
  2. For existing users,
    1. If you have configured auto-follow rules and you have records actively indexed by the criteria, then auto-follow rules alone (among the three mentioned above) will be retained in your organization.
    2. If you have not configured any auto-follow rules thus far, the feature will be removed from your organization.
    3. If you have configured auto-follow rules and there were/ are no records matching the criteria created, then the feature will be removed from your organization. However, if you'd like to retain the feature, please write to our support team (support@zohocrm.com) to validate your request to retain.
That's all, folks. If you have more questions or comments, please drop them below in the comments section. Let's connect!

Thanks and have a good one!

Kind regards,
Saranya Balasubramanian
