DKIM Now Mandatory - Changes to Zoho Forms Email Policies

Hello Zoho Forms Users,

This post is to inform you about an important update regarding the authentication of all email domains in your Zoho Forms account. This year, we are doubling down on our commitment to deliver a secure, seamless, and empowering experience for you.
To enhance email security, DKIM configuration will be mandatory for all email domains used in the From Address configuration by the end of March, 2025. This update aligns with the Gmail's email sender guidelines.

What happens if DKIM is not set?

Warning
If DKIM is not configured for your From Address in Zoho Forms, emails sent from Zoho Forms may fail to deliver.

Who does this apply to?

This applies to all email domains used in the From Address that are triggered from the Zoho Forms SMTP server.

Action to be taken by all email senders

  1. Using public domains
If you do not have a custom domain and are using a public domain such as gmail as your domain for the From address, it is recommended that you change the
From address in your Zoho Forms' email settings to the following based on your DC:

    Data Center

    Zoho Forms' Default Email Address

    US

    notifications@zohoforms.com

    EU

    notifications@zohoforms.eu

    IN

    notifications@zohoforms.in

    JP

    notifications@zohoforms.jp

    CN

    notifications@zohoforms.com.cn

    AU

    notifications@zohoforms.com.au

    CA

    notifications@zohoforms.ca

    SA

    notifications@zohoforms.sa

  2. Authenticate your custom domain via DKIM
    1. All email senders are required to ensure authentication of their email-sending domains with DKIM. This is a mandatory step to use your organization's custom domains to send emails.
    2. DKIM is now enabled in Zoho Forms' Free plan. Users with their own custom domains are required to configure DKIM to prevent their emails from being flagged as spam. Learn about DKIM configuration in Zoho Forms.

Actions going to be taken by Zoho Forms

  • If a domain is unverified or belongs to a public domain, organization notifications mentioned below will use notifications@zohoforms.com as the From Address instead of the form owner's primary email ID.

    Notifications for

    Form Share

    Report Share

    Organization Form Copy

    Form Approvals

    Form Ownership/Status Change

    Sender Email Address

Additionally, this change will also affect notification for Assign Owner in Entries, Restore Shared Forms, Folder Share, Global List Share.

  • By the end of March 2025, email templates will not be saved if the From Address belongs to a public domain.
Alert
Moving forward, notifications@zohoforms.com will automatically be set as the From Address for all emails if the domain is unverified or associated with a public domain.
