Enhancements to Bigin's forms

Enhancements to Bigin's forms

Greetings,

I hope all of you are doing well. We're happy to announce a few recent enhancements we've made to Bigin's forms. We'll go over each one in detail.

Merge field support in auto-filled forms

The auto-fill option in Bigin's forms lets you predefine values for certain fields. When someone submits a form, those fields are automatically added to the created record, with no need for the customer to fill them in. This saves time, reduces repetitive data entry, and ensures important details are always captured.

Examples:
  • Auto-fill the Priority field with "High" for leads who come from your pricing request form.
  • Auto-fill the Source field with "Website" for leads captured through your online form.
Until now, the auto-fill feature only supported static values. With this update, you can also insert dynamic values using merge fields.
To do so, select the field you want to auto-fill, click the # merge icon, and insert the appropriate merge fields.

Examples
  • If you collect a customer's first name and last name separately but also need a full name field, you can merge the two and populate the full name automatically.

  • Similarly, if you collect a contact's phone number and want to see the same number as their company's phone number, you can set the company phone field to be auto-filled using the contact's phone number instead of asking for it again or updating it manually.

Pipeline record names (deal names) are no longer mandatory in forms

Previously, pipeline record names (i.e., fields like Deal Name or Ticket Name) were mandatory in pipeline forms and couldn't be removed. Since this field is primarily used internally, it's not always relevant for customers filling out forms. To simplify and provide more flexibility in submissions, we've now removed this requirement.

However, pipeline record name fields continue to be required for record creation. If you choose to remove the "Deal Name" field from the form, it must be added in the auto-fill section.

The same change applies to contact forms. "Last Name" and "Company Name" can now be removed from forms, giving you more flexibility in how you collect customer information.

That's all for these enhancements. We sincerely hope you find these improvements useful.
