Need Help Preventing Overselling in Zoho Inventory

Hi fellow Zoho Inventory users,

I'm reaching out for advice on managing inventory control in our growing business. We've recently encountered situations where sales orders get confirmed despite insufficient stock, creating operational challenges.

Our challenge:
When multiple team members create orders simultaneously, we sometimes end up with negative inventory because the system allows confirming orders even when stock isn't available.

What we're looking for:

  • A way to automatically flag orders that would result in negative inventory

  • Preferably something that works at the draft stage before confirmation

  • Ideally a system that either:
    • Prevents order confirmation entirely when stock is low
    • Or clearly marks such orders for manager review

Questions for the community:

  1. Has anyone implemented similar controls in their Zoho Inventory setup?

  2. Are there built-in features we might be overlooking?

  3. Would this require custom workflows or third-party integrations?

We're particularly interested in automated solutions that don't rely on manual checks. Any experiences or suggestions would be incredibly helpful as we work to improve our processes.
