Email Deliverability Tip #12: Warm-up a new sender domain
In the previous post, we learned techniques to improve open and click rates. Today we'll be focusing on best practices to warm-up a new sender domain.
When you decide to use a new sender domain to send emails, you should ensure that you warm-up the sender domain before sending your regular email volume. If you send a huge volume of email without warming up the sender domain, you will face delivery issues. Here are some best practices to warm-up your sender domain:
- Ensure that you use a business domain and you authenticate it.
- Clean your mailing list and start the warm-up procedure by sending emails to active contacts.
- Slowly increase the email volume and start sending emails to the remaining contacts.
- Split the email volume and send emails either at a regular interval or on a daily basis.
- If your emails face delivery issues, pause sending emails and revisit your sending practices.
