Payment links in Bigin just got supercharged

We're happy to announce major enhancements to the Payments feature in Bigin.

As you may already know, Bigin supports Payments integration, which enables you to create and send payment links directly from Bigin to your customers. It also allows you to track payment updates within Bigin, making payment collection faster and more convenient.

With this enhancement, we're expanding payment capabilities further by enabling automated payment collection through workflows, introducing payment-based follow-up triggers, and supporting additional payment gateways.

Let's take a closer look at these enhancements

Automate payment collections through workflows

Previously, users had to manually create payment links for pipeline records and share them with customers whenever a payment was required. While this worked for individual requests, it wasn't efficient for businesses with large numbers of deals.

With this update, you can now automatically generate payment links and send them to customers through workflow automation. This removes the need for manual intervention and ensures payment requests are sent at the right stage of the sales process.



For example, a consulting firm can automatically send a payment link for the onboarding fee when a deal reaches the Proposal Accepted stage. This ensures customers receive payment requests immediately without requiring the manual intervention from the sales team.

NotesNote:
Once a payment is successfully completed, an invoice is automatically emailed to the customer as an attachment. You can also view the invoice anytime in Zoho Checkout by navigating to Payments and opening the corresponding payment transaction.

Trigger workflows based on payment status updates 

You can now automate actions based on changes in payment status. This allows your workflows to respond automatically when a payment is created, completed, overdue, or expired. Based on these updates, you can set up actions that help you stay on top of follow-ups and keep your sales process moving smoothly.



Taking the consulting firm example a step further, once the onboarding fee is paid, Bigin can automatically:
  1. Mark the deal as Closed Won
  2. Send a confirmation email with onboarding details and next steps
This removes manual follow-ups and ensures a seamless customer experience from payment to onboarding.

With this enhancement, you can set up triggers for both deals and payments using criteria-based configuration.

Payment merge fields in email templates

You can now use payment merge fields in email templates for the Pipelines module once payment integration is enabled.

This allows you to include payment-related details directly in your email templates, making it simpler to send consistent and accurate payment communication to customers.



For example, you can create a payment reminder template that automatically includes:
  1. Payment amount
  2. Due date
  3. Direct payment link
So every reminder email is accurate, personalized, and ready to send without manual edits.

This feature is applicable only to the Pipelines module and requires payment integration to be enabled.

Expanded payment gateway support

Earlier, Bigin supported a limited set of payment gateways, such as PayPal, Razorpay, Stripe, and Paytm.

With this enhancement, all payment gateways supported in Zoho Checkout are now available within Bigin’s Payments configuration.
