Reference existing Zoho Writer doc in "Documents"
Hi there, Is it currently possible to reference already created Zoho writer documents in the projects "documents" section? One of the team members has about 50 documents that he now wants to share with the rest of the team in Projects - since we have now moved over to Zoho Projects. The only way we can find for him to do this is export the doc in Zoho Writer, then re-import it into Zoho Projects ... which seems a little silly to me! Thanks & best regards, Tim.

Preventing Users from maintaining my projects
Is it possible to assign users tasks, but not allow them to edit the task? I want to (as the project administrator) define the projects and have my users log time using the timesheet function . But the users have the ability to modify and even delete the tasks, which will in turn delete all of the timesheet entries. That is totally unacceptable, only I should be able to delete tasks. In other words, I want to assign users to a task, but not make them the owner of the task. I can't seem to find a

I think I found a bug: after a tasks is succesfully created if I try to update the dates the system changes it to very old dates i.e. 1969 and 1970. This happens in both normal task view and dependency view. julio.endara
how do you use the dependent task features
I'm presuming that this is a feature for all piad subscription...but I could not figure how to create child tasks. But appart from seeing this in the right column and seeing the dependency tab in the miles and tasks view, I cannot see how I can create such things. This would add an added dimension to this software. If only I could figure out how to do it. Darron Thevarajah
The user should NEVER be notified that the admin has deleted
When a user is deleted from a project, they get an email to that effect, alerting them to the deletion. This is very bad form, as the admin should be able to do this without letting the user know. There could be all kinds of repercussions and bad blood with this. Please change it so there is no notification, or at least a choice by the admin to notify them or not. thanks! andy.jacobs
Great product but ...
Hi there, First let me congratulate you on another great Zoho product ... after weeks of trials of the competition my company has settled on Zoho Projects to manage our technology team :-) I have a couple of feature requests though: 1. Export just a specific milestone ( or set of milestones ) and associated tasks - at the moment you can only filter on each users tasks or export for all users. I then have to go into Excel and cut out all the tasks for long term milestones before our weekly team meeting.
Sort milestones by name, etc?
I am currently entering milestones for a project and I noted that they are ordered according to due-date. It would be nice to have also the option of ordering them by name. Another related question - is it possible to increase the length of the milestone name to 150 symbols?
Meetings Date Confusion
There is a line of text under the title of a meeting which is very confusing for me. It says "Last Conducted : Yesterday@ 12:30 PM". My immediate interpretation of this is that the meeting is schedulded for yesterday. I imagine it is supposed to indicate when the last meeting was. However I have been tripped up by this twice now. It is onlyy when I see the 'Today' text above the meeting title that I realise. However it is a smaller heading and so easy to miss. Cheers danielduckworth.effortstu

Task Item Due Date - Not just Start and End Date
Is it possible to have Task Due dates, instead of just a Start and End date? I see that it is valuable to track the actual start, end dates ... but for dependencies, and when a project is initially started may only need/know the 'due' date... not how long it will take. For example, on my project I have some client task requirements - I don't know when they will start... but I do know when I need to have them completed by for other dependencies. Coby Pachmayr

My Zoho Projects service doesn't seem to be working
My Zoho Projects service doesn't seem to be working. The site will not allow me to upgrade [it gives me a message to "See my project administrator"]. I am the only user and therefor should be the project administrator. Also, I can't seem to add new projects. There seems to be some sort of problem that is not allowing me to use or upgrade the service. Please advise. jgreene
Dependencies and resource usage/time
I am liking this program more and more. Though there are several areas lacking. It needs more details on setting and managing the tasks parameters particulary Dependencies where one task cannot begin until another is ended and setting a task to auto start based on the end of another therefore only needing the duration of effort to map it. Some tasks depend on another task occuring after it (working backwards) these should link accross milestones and be allocated to a start or and end of a slected

is there any way to change our portal ulr once it has been chosen? i started a dummy version yesterday and realized i needed to start over so th work email would be the admin. i deleted that account but now the portal URL i used yesterday is not available. Everytime I use projects it keeps locking up or is VERY slow...What's up? I want to switch from Basecamp which runs much faster but may have to rethink this decision if this slowness keeps up John Robertson

changing the portal url
Hi, I recently created a project on here and my team started filling in all the project details, tasks, and milestones. We're really like to change the portal URL though, because during the sign up I did not realize that that URL would be used for the whole team, so I just put my username. I'd prefer the company name to be in the portal URL. Any way to fix this? We are not willing to start from scratch with a new account. Thanks
user login not working
some of our users seems not to be able to login to Zoho Projects. On the entry screen they input required information and hit enter, but the website just "hang up" (freezes with no reaction. Deleting cookies does not help. I read it is to do with some plugins in IE, however the only plugin the user has is Norton (antivirus or firewall???) and in my view this should not hinder logging in to a website. It is a real nuissance and it might force our team to abbandon the whole zoho alltogether (which

Hiding the left Projects and Users Panels
I personally would like to be able to hide the Projects and Users panel on the left hand side. Once I am working on a project I have never needed to use these panels and would prefer to use the space for the other views (eg Tasks, Documents, Timesheet etc). future enhancement?
it would be great to be able to clear history of files without having to delete and republish. We have a fairly large file that gets saved daily with our latest changes. Every time we do that it saves a new version and we don't necessarily need all of the file history. We'll need to upgrade for more space anyway but this would just help us control it better. thanks! Uploading new versions of files
When uploading new versions of files you should be able to upload a file with a different name than the original file. For instance i use "document.doc" for the first document, then "document v2.doc" for the second (local) version, and i am not allowed to upload it as a new version of the file! Piotr Borowiec

I just signed up, and the Zoho service seems promising, but there is a feature missing that I personally consider crucial: I need my tasks to have a comment area to put notes related to that task. It seems simple enough to implement. Am I missing something, or is that not available? jsw127

Fatal flaw
Hello. I was very impressed by some of Zoho's features, but one problem seems, to me, a fatal flaw: The system requires us to define dependencies between activities AND starting and finishing dates for them as well. That is precisely a key feature of a planning tool -- given the dependencies between activities, when shoud we start each of the critical ones, in order to complete the project on time. This is also how we calculate the necessary time for the project, given the way we plan to execute

Hello, One of the most important big picture reports for me is a project gantt. Basically, combine your open/closed gantt in to one report, and double up lines on all milestones, one is a scheduled line, the other is a progress line. Any chance you have plans to add this? Thanks, -paul.
Is there an access control over an document is being edited?
Hello! I would like to know if there is any access control like the concept of "checking out/in" of a document when a user is editting a file in the file folder using ZoHo document tool such as word. An scenario would occurs that a user A is currently editing a document using Zoho Word while user B is downloading the file. I would assume that there is no way for User B to know that the file is being edited by user A. A further seceario would be that B download the file and edit on his/her computer
Timesheet approval / review funtion
Can there be a way for project Managers / owners to approval and review the timesheet of team members before it's exported; it can be an optional setting for the project. a notation of this review can also be included on the exported sheet. ebony08
Gantt-chart not displaying in Firefox on OS X / Vista
Having some problems when looking at reports, specifically the task graph view and milestones graph view - have tested with firefox 2.0.0.14 on Vista and OS X 1.5 and also latest Safari in OS X - when viewing REPORTS and Task Graph View it only shows a "broken image"-picture instead of the Gantt-chart - I am pretty sure I have been able to view the chart earlier, a couple of weeks ago. Have tested on 2 separate machines, one pc and a mac. Just tested it in Explorer 7.0.6001.18000 and same thing there,
