Migrate from older version of Upload Tool

1. Why should I migrate from older versions of the Upload Tool?

As part of our continuous endeavor to make Zoho services more secure, we are phasing out support for TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1. The older versions of the Upload Tool uses these TLS versions.

As the specified TLS versions have security vulnerabilities, Zoho no longer supports these. Hence migrating to the new version of Upload Tool is mandatory.

2. Who should migrate?

Users who are using the Upload Tool with the java version older than 1.8.x need to migrate. Follow the below steps to know your Upload Tool's java version.

Go to <Upload_Tool_Home> directory.
Open the /logs folder.
Open the tool0.txt file.
Search for the word "java.version".
If the java version logged is below 1.8.x, then your upload tool needs to be upgraded.

3. How do I migrate from the old Upload Tool?

You can migrate from an older version to the newest version by following one of the below options.

Option 1 - Move to the latest version of the Upload Tool.

Follow the below steps to move to the latest version of Upload Tool:

Download the latest version of the Upload Tool from the below link.
https://www.zoho.com/analytics/help/upload-tool.html#Download
Unzip the downloaded file and reconfigure the upload tool.
You may also copy the files in the <Old_Upload_Tool_Home>/conf/ folder and paste the same under the <New_Upload_Tool>/conf/ folder
Start uploading your data using the new upload tool.

Option 2 - Change the java runtime environment of the Upload Tool

Follow the below steps to change the java runtime environment:

Download the latest version of the Upload Tool from the below link.
https://www.zoho.com/analytics/help/upload-tool.html#Download
Unzip the downloaded file.
Go to <New_Upload_Tool_Home> folder and copy the jre/ folder.
Paste the new jre/ folder to replace the old jre/ folder in the <Old_Upload_Tool_Home>/ folder.
Start uploading your data using the old upload tool.

Option 3 - Migrate to Zoho Databridge

Zoho Analytics now has a next-generation upload agent, called Zoho Databridge. Zoho Databridge is a lightweight independent utility that helps you to easily set up the import process, right from the Zoho Analytics interface.

4. When should I migrate?

You need to migrate to the latest version before 28 Aug 2020. After the said period, the older versions of the Upload Tool will be deprecated. If you fail to migrate, then your import process will not work.
