How to import contacts into Bigin?
You can import your contacts from a spreadsheet, CSV file, or VCF file. Refer to the checklist here to ensure your import file meets all the required parameters.
Note: You must import the Companies into Bigin first so that you can map the imported contacts with the right company. If the Company record is not available in Bigin, then the Company Name field value will not be available for the imported Contacts.
To import contacts
- Go to the Contacts module.
- Click the +Contact dropdown and select Import Contact.
- Click Upload or drag and drop your file in the Upload your file stage.
- Click Next.
- In the Choose an Action section, select one of the following options:
- Add as New Record
- Update Existing Records Only
- Both
- Click Next.
- In the Map Your Data section, map the fields from your file to the fields in the Bigin account.
- Click Next.
- In the Additional Options stage, select the record owner and add tags, if required.
- Click Finish to start importing.
You can also import notes associated with the contacts.
To import notes
- Go to the Contacts module.
- Click the +Contact dropdown and select Import Notes.
- Click Upload or drag and drop your file in the Upload your file stage.
- Click Next.
- Map the fields in your import file to the fields in the Bigin account. Ensure you map a unique field as the Parent ID.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish to start importing your data.
The import process will run in the background. Once it is completed, you will receive a notification with an option to view a detailed summary of the import. You can also access the summary from the Import History section in the Data Administration settings.
