Connections

Quote
Connections in Zoho Bookings are secure, reusable integrations that allow you to authenticate once and connect with supported Zoho apps. Once authorized, these connections can be used across multiple workflows to perform actions in those apps based on booking events.

1. What is a connection?

Connections provide a secure way to authorize Zoho Bookings to access supported Zoho applications. Once a connection is established, it can be reused across multiple workflows without requiring reauthorization.

1.1 When can a connection be used in Zoho Bookings?

Use connections in workflows triggered by booking events (such as appointment creation, updates, cancellations, and no-shows) to perform actions in the connected app. For example, you can create support tickets in Zoho Desk, send notifications through Zoho Cliq, or update records in Zoho Recruit.

2. Steps to create a connection

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Developer Hub > Connections.

  2. Find the app you want and click Connect.
  3. Review the requested permissions and select Accept to complete the authentication process.

3. What to expect after enabling a connection

After a connection is authorized:
  • It becomes available in custom workflows.
  • You can use it to perform actions in the connected app when workflow conditions are met.
  • The connected app appears in the Refer Fields section, allowing you to use its supported fields while configuring workflows.

4. Manage connections

You can manage all your configured connections through the following actions:

4.1 Reauthorize a connection

If a connection expires or its authorization is revoked, you must reauthorize it before it can be used in workflows again.

Steps to reauthorize a connection
  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Developer Hub > Connections.
  2. Click the Option icon  on the app's connection card.
  3. Click Reauthorize to review the requested permissions and complete the authorization process.

4.2 Disable a connection

Disabling a connection temporarily prevents workflows from using it. The connection remains available and can be enabled again later.

Steps to reauthorize a connection
  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Developer Hub > Connections.
  2. Click the Option icon  on the app's connection card and select Disable.

4.3 Delete a connection

Deleting a connection permanently removes it from Zoho Bookings. If the connection is used in any workflows, you must remove it from those workflows before deleting it.
  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Developer Hub > Connections.
  2. Click the Option icon  on the app's connection card and select Delete.

  3. Click View to review and remove the connection from its workflows.

  4. Click Delete.

FAQ

1. Where can I view all my connections?
You can view all available and authorized connections by navigating to Admin Center > Developer Hub > Connections.
2. How can I view a connection's current permissions?
You can view its permissions from the Permissions section on the Connections page, before or after authorizing it.

3. Do I need to authorize a connection every time I use it in a workflow?
No. Once a connection is authorized, it can be reused across multiple workflows. You only need to reauthorize it if the authorization expires or is revoked.

4. Why do I need to reauthorize a connection?
You may need to reauthorize a connection if its authorization has expired, been revoked, or the connected app requires renewed permissions. Reauthorizing restores the connection and ensures that its workflows continue to work without interruption.

5. What happens if I disable a connection that is used in a workflow?
Any workflows that depend on the disabled connection will no longer be able to perform actions using that connection until it is enabled or reauthorized.

6. Can I delete a connection that is currently used in workflows?
No. If a connection is used in one or more workflows, you must remove it from those workflows before deleting it.

7. Can I reconnect a deleted connection?
Yes. After deleting a connection, you can create and authorize it again by selecting the supported app and completing the authorization process.
