When an event type is no longer required, you have the option to delete it. Once deleted, the event type cannot be recovered. This will permanently remove all its associated details and data from its workspace, ensuring it is no longer appears in your scheduling options.
2. Feature availability
- Super admins and admins can delete event types of all workspaces
- Workspace admins can delete event types of their assigned workspaces
- Managers and staff cannot perform this deletion
3. Steps to delete an event type
- Go to the required workspace and click Event Types in the left side pane. The event types added under the selected workspace will be listed.
Hover over the required event type, click the options icon
, then select Delete. A Delete Event Type pop-up will appear. Select the appropriate option in the pop-up to delete.

According to the appointments present in the event type, it shows the below options.
Case 1: Deleting an event type that has upcoming appointments
If the event type you are looking to delete has upcoming appointments, you will be asked to perform any one of the below options. An event type cannot be deleted unless all its upcoming appointments are over or the appointments have been canceled.
Solution 1: You can mark the event type as Private instead of deleting it. This will restrict customers from making further appointments for the event type.
Solution 2: You can reschedule the appointments to an earlier date so that the appointment gets over, and then delete it. Otherwise, you can also cancel those appointments. Note: When you click on 'Reschedule appointments' you will be taken to the appointments list page, where you can reschedule or cancel the appointments.

Case 2: Deleting an event type with past appointments
If the event type you are looking to delete has past appointments, you can choose what happens with the history of appointments after the user is deleted.
Solution 1: The history of appointments can be deleted for both users and customers.
Solution 2: You can delete the history only from your bookings account while keeping it available for customers; they can view it in their portal or through a bookmarked link.
Event types cannot be retrieved after deletion.
