Milestones in a Project
Milestones are goal based targets in a project. Milestones are listed by their status (Active, Completed, and Archived).
To access the milestones module in Zoho BugTracker:
- Navigate to the left navigation panel and click on Milestones in the Overview drop-down.
- Click the Group By drop-down and select Project to organize milestones under their respective projects.
To access the milestones within a project:
- Click Project in the left navigation panel.
- Hover over the project and click Access Project.
- Click Milestones in the top navigation band.
Benefits
- Milestones are indicators of a project's progress.
- Measure project efficiency through milestone completion.
Predefined Views
View milestones based on preset views.
- All Milestones: lists all the milestones in the project
- Active Milestones: lists all the active milestones including overdue and currently due (yet to be completed)
- Completed Milestones: lists all the milestones that are completed
- Overdue & Open: lists all the milestones that are past their due date and yet to be completed
- Due this week: lists all the milestones that are due in the current week
- Due this month: lists all the milestones that are due in the current month
My Views
View milestones related to you.
- My Active Milestones: active milestones owned by you
- My Completed Milestones: completed milestones owned by you
- Created By Me: milestones created by you
- Milestones I Follow: milestones that you follow
Milestone Flag
Milestones can be marked as Internal and External.
- Internal: Only portal users can access the milestone and its associated entities.
- External: Portal and Client users can access the milestone and its associated entities.
Milestone Details
- Navigate to the left navigation panel and click Projects.
- Hover over the project and click Access Project.
- Click the Milestones tab in the top navigation band.
- Hover over a milestone and click Open Details to view the Milestone Details page.
Clicking on a milestone will open the details. Users can view the following information:
- Bugs: View, access, and submit issues for the milestone.
- Invoices (requires Zoho Invoice integration): Track all milestone invoices.
- Release Notes: View milestone release notes.
- Comments: View and add comments to the milestone.
- Fields (default and custom fields): Access all the milestone information.
- Activity Stream: View all activities in the milestone.
- Chart View: Bug Status, Bug Count by Assignee, and Timesheet Summary Reports.
Manage Milestone
- Hover over an active milestone.
- Click
or right-click to make changes to the milestone.
Edit and update its attributes;
Delete if you no longer need it;
Move the milestone to another project;
Follow the milestone and receive updates;
Create Milestone Above the selected milestone;
Create Milestone Below the selected milestone;
Chart View to view the Bug and Timesheet Reports;
The Flag can be set while creating a milestone or can be modified by editing a milestone.
Release Notes
Release Notes has the list of the completed bugs in the milestone.
- Click Project in the left navigation panel.
- Hover over the project and click Access Project.
- Click Milestones in the top navigation band.
- Hover over a milestone and click Open Details.
- Click on the Release Notes tab.

Skip Weekends and Holiday Settings are used to calculate the number of days:
- left to complete a milestone
- that have passed the milestone due date
- That are ahead or behind schedule of a completed milestone (shown in Completed Milestones)
- left to complete a milestone
- Click
in the upper-right corner to filter the milestones based on the Owner or Type.
