Forms – Overview

Introduction

A form or a signup form is a digital interface such as a webpage, popup, or embedded widget designed to gather information from people interested in joining a service, subscribing to a newsletter, or accessing a platform. It typically collects details like names and email addresses, enabling businesses to build and maintain contact databases.

Why forms?

Forms convert website visitors into contacts, so you can send them email campaigns to market your product. They offer a structured, efficient way to grow your contact database while reducing manual effort.

Where do I access this?

From the Navigation Toolbar to the left, click Audience and click Forms module to access forms.

What does a form contain?

A form primarily includes Name and Email Address fields. In Zoho Campaigns, you can also add:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Company Name
  • Phone Number

Types of forms

Zoho Campaigns supports two main categories of forms:
  • Signup Forms – Placed directly within a webpage. Available in three layouts:
  • Compact Forms – Ideal for sidebars or limited-space placements.
  • Banner Forms – Full-width strips suited for page headers or footers.
  • Long Forms – Multi-field forms for capturing more detailed contact information.
  • Pop-up Forms – Overlay forms that appear over page content. Available in two styles:
  • Standard Pop-up – A focused modal with the surrounding page still visible.
  • Blanket Pop-up – A full-screen overlay that commands full visitor attention.

Example use case

Suppose you're hosting a webinar to showcase your latest product and want an easy way for interested participants to register. Instead of collecting details manually, you can place a forms on your landing page to capture names, email addresses, and other relevant information. As soon as someone submits the form, their details are automatically added to your contact database in Zoho Campaigns, keeping your records accurate and organized from the very first interaction.

What happens after submission?

Once a visitor submits the form, they are added to your selected contact list in Zoho Campaigns. Depending on your configuration, they may receive a confirmation email or be subject to a double opt-in process, where they click a verification link before being fully added. This helps ensure list quality and compliance with email marketing best practices.
