Once your server is connected, you can work with Zoho Campaigns from a chat. A good first prompt is "What can you help me do with my marketing campaigns?" The AI tool replies with the tasks it can do, based on the tools in your server. The prompts in this section are examples, so change the names, dates, and numbers to match your own account. If you have not set up a server yet, see Set up the Zoho Campaigns MCP server.
Everyday tasks
Use simple prompts to find, create, edit, and delete items without opening Zoho Campaigns.
Task | Example prompt |
Find campaigns | "Show me the email campaigns I created recently and tell me which ones are currently scheduled." |
See campaign details | "Give me the details of my latest sent email campaign, including its audience, status, and performance." |
Create a campaign | "Create an email campaign targeting my high-value customers and name it 'VIP October Campaign'." |
Edit a campaign | "Change the subject line of 'VIP October Campaign' to 'Your October VIP offer is here'." |
Send a test email | |
Schedule a campaign | "Schedule my 'VIP October Campaign' for tomorrow at 10 AM." |
Create a segment | "Create a segment of contacts who haven't opened any email in the last 60 days." |
Update a contact | "Add jane@zylker.com to the 'Newsletter' list and tag her as 'Webinar 2026'." |
Clean up a list | "Remove all contacts from the 'Event RSVP 2025' list but keep the list." |
Delete an item | "Delete the draft campaign 'Spring test 3'." |
Note: Prompts that create, change, delete, or send act on your live Zoho Campaigns organization. Ask the AI tool to show you what it plans to do and wait for your confirmation before it makes changes. For example, end your prompt with "Show me a summary first and wait for my OK."MCP is most useful when you want answers and not just numbers. The AI tool can read your campaign reports, compare campaigns with each other, and suggest what to change. These prompts use the email campaign report tools: "Which of my recent email campaigns has the lowest engagement?"
"Why did my 'Spring Sale' campaign perform worse than my other campaigns this quarter?"
"Compare the open and click rates of my last five campaigns and tell me what the best ones have in common."
"What should I change in my next campaign to get more clicks?"
"Find contacts who have received campaigns recently but haven't engaged with them."
Suppose your 'Spring Sale' campaign got far fewer clicks than usual, and you want to know why before your next send. You ask your AI tool: "Why did my 'Spring Sale' campaign get fewer clicks than my other campaigns this quarter? Suggest what to improve."
The AI tool uses listCampaigns to find your campaigns from this quarter and getEmailCampaignFullReport to read the delivery, open, click, and bounce numbers for each one. It then uses getCampaign to look at the subject line and sender details of 'Spring Sale', and compares it with the others. It replies with the likely reasons, such as a long subject line, a weekend send time, or a high bounce rate, along with specific changes to try.
If your server also has the campaign-builder tools, you can follow up in the same chat with "Apply your subject line suggestion and send me a test." The AI tool updates the campaign and sends you a test email.
Note: The analysis and suggestions come from your AI tool, based on the data that Zoho Campaigns returns. Review the suggestions before you act on them.Multi-step workflows
You can also ask for a task that takes several steps. The AI tool plans the steps, calls the tools in order, and reports back when it is done.
"Create an email campaign for my customers who haven't engaged with my emails in the last 30 days."
"I want to re-engage inactive customers. Analyze my recent campaigns, recommend the best audience and send time, create the campaign, and schedule it for the best available time tomorrow."
"Find contacts who didn't open my last 3 campaigns, put them in a segment, and schedule a win-back email to them for tomorrow at 10 AM."
A Zoho MCP server can hold tools from more than one app. If you add Zoho CRM tools to the same server, you can ask for work across both apps, for example: "Find the deals closed this month in Zoho CRM and add those contacts to the 'New customers' list in Zoho Campaigns."
Tips for better results
Use exact names. Write campaign, list, and segment names exactly as they appear in Zoho Campaigns, inside quotes.
Give dates and times. Say "in the last 30 days" or "tomorrow at 10 AM IST" instead of "recently" or "soon".
Ask for a plan first. For changes and sends, ask the AI tool to list what it will do before it acts.
Build on the answer. Follow up in the same chat to refine the result, for example, "Now do the same for the 'Newsletter' list."
