Managing Files in Zoho Connect

Overview
You organize, filter, rename, upload, delete, manage permissions, restore, track version history, preview, and share Files in your network.This guide covers all the details related to these activities.
NotesThis guide is intended for users who configure Files on or after March 12, 2026.

To access files,

Go to Files from the left menu.

If Files isn't enabled in the Company Wall, you'll see Enable Files.


Then, you should click Enable Files and configure with your WorkDrive TeamFolder.


If Files is already enabled,

  • Files from the Team Folder linked to the Company Wall will appear on the Company Files page.



  • Groups with Files enabled will be listed under the Group Files sub-section in the left extended menu.

 

Alternatively, you can access Files in a separate tab within any group where it’s enabled.

To create files/folders,

  1. Click Create or +New in the page.



  2. From the dropdown, create a file/folder in a supported format.

 

To upload files/folders,

  1. Click Upload or +New in the page.



  2. From the dropdown, upload a file from your device or cloud in a supported format.


To record media or screen,

  1. Click Record or + New on the page.



  2. From the dropdown, select whether you want to record screen, audio, or video.

 

Who can edit, create, and upload files?

Based on admin preferences, the permissions to edit, create, and upload files will vary.

To choose the preferences,
  1. Go to group Settings and move to the Permission tab.



  2. Find and choose who can create, edit, and upload files.

As an admin, you can change the preferences anytime you want.

 

Organizing files

You can organize files and folders in your WorkDrive folder, including adding a label and marking them as favorite.
To organize file/folder,
  1. Select the file/folder you want to delete and click the three dots on the top.



  2. From the dropdown, choose the action you want to perform.

 

Browsing or searching files/folders

  • Use the View option in the upper-right corner to switch between Thumbnail, List, and Compact layouts.



  • Click the Sort option to arrange items by Name, Last Modified, and Time Created.



  • Click the Filter option to view All files, Folders, My Drafts, Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations, and PDF, Images, Audio, and Videos.

 

Folder settings and file information

To view folder information and manage file settings,
Click Manage and select Team Folder Details.



In the page, you can see separate tabs for folder information, settings, members, trash, activity, shared items, and data templates.

 

Permission details

On linking a WorkDrive folder with a group/company wall, the respective wall admins will automatically get admin access to the folder. Also, users with admin access in either the Connect group or the WorkDrive team folder will get admin access to the Files.

How to delete a file/folder

Notes
Only respective wall admins can delete a file/folder.

To delete a file/folder,

  1. Select the file/folder you want to delete and click the three dots on the top.



  2. From the dropdown, select Move to Trash.

Notes

Deleted files and folders will be moved to the Trash section and will be deleted permanently after 90 days of deletion. Also, you can restore it from there if needed.
