Collaborating on a Counterparty Initiated Contract
Add and Manage Collaborators
Adding and managing collaborators in a counterparty-initiated contract is similar to adding and managing collaborators in an organization-initiated contract. For a step-by-step guide, see Adding and Managing Collaborators.
Review Contract
Edit a Contract Shared with You
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click the name of the view at the top-left corner of the contracts list page, then select the Shared With Me view from the dropdown menu.
- Click to open the contract that you want to edit and proceed with editing the contract document.
Note:
- Only collaborators with the Write permission can edit the contract document.
- Collaborators can only edit the content of the contract document. They cannot edit other information in the contract details panel on the left.
Edit a Contract Using MS Word
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click the name of the view at the top-left corner of the contracts list page, then select the Shared With Me view from the dropdown menu.
- Click to open the contract that you want to edit.
- Click Edit in MS Word at the top-right corner of the page, then edit the contract in MS Word, and click Save.
Note: To track the changes made to the contract document, enable the Track Changes option in MS Word.
Add Contextual Comments
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click the name of the view at the top-left corner of the contracts list page and select Shared With Me view from the dropdown menu.
- Click to open the contract you want to add comments to.
- Select the Review Mode at the top of the document editor.
- Select the text you want to add a comment for, then click Add Comment on the toolbar at the top of the document editor.
- Enter the comment in the window that opens up on the right panel, then change the comment visibility from the dropdown menu if needed, and then click Add. By default, My Organization Members is set in the comment visibility dropdown menu.
Note:
- When My Organization Members is set in the comment visibility dropdown menu, the comment will be visible to the contract owner and collaborators. Only the collaborators with Write or Comment permission can view the comment.
- If you choose Everyone in the comment visibility dropdown menu, the comment will be visible to the negotiators, contract owner, and collaborators.
- In Review mode, the comments will be available in the Comments panel on the right of the contract details page.
- In Compose mode, clicking the commented text will display the comment.
- Comments added to the contract document using the MS Word application are not displayed in the Zoho Contracts interface. You can use the Edit in MS Word option to view or manage the comments.
Tip: You can also add a comment from the smart toolbar. To do so, select the text you want to add a comment for, then click Add Comment Edit or Delete a Comment
- Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
- Click the name of the view at the top-left corner of the contracts list page and select the Shared With Me view from the dropdown menu.
- Click to open the contract you want to edit or delete a comment in.
- Select the Review mode at the top of the document editor.
- Select the Comments panel on the right.
- Hover the mouse pointer over the comment that you want to edit or delete, then click More
.
- Choose Edit or Delete.
Note: In Compose mode, clicking the commented text will display the comment in a dialog box.
