Using ChatGPT in Contract Creation

Integrating ChatGPT with Zoho Contracts enables you to perform contract management tasks, such as identifying contract obligations, detecting missing clauses, suggesting suitable clauses, translating clause language, and summarizing clauses into non-legal terms. You can also highlight potential risks, extract meta details, and summarize key milestones. Additionally, you can ask specific questions to obtain relevant information from your contracts.

Discover Obligations in the Contract

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click to open the contract in which you want to discover obligations.
  3. Click AI Assistant at the top right corner. 
  4. Click Discover Obligations.
  5. Enter the requirements in the Instruction field, then select the content for identifying obligations from the following options:
    1. Entire Document
    2. All Clauses
    3. Specific Clauses



  6. Click Submit to generate the obligations.
  7. Click  to copy the generated obligations to the clipboard.
To create obligations based on the ChatGPT suggestions, see Adding Obligations.

Identify Missing Clauses in the Contract

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click to open the contract in which you want to identify missing clauses.
  3. Click AI Assistant at the top right corner. 
  4. Click Suggest Missing Clauses.
  5. Enter the requirements in the Instruction field, then click Submit to generate the missing clause suggestions.
  6. Click  to copy the generated suggestions to the clipboard.
  7. Paste the missing clauses in the contract document, then click More  at the top-left corner of the document editor to format the text.
  8. After you author the document, click Draft Complete at the top-right corner of the contract details page.

Summarize the Contract in Non-legalese Terms

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click to open the contract in which you want to summarize in non-legal terms.
  3. Click AI Assistant at the top right corner. 
  4. Click Summarize in Non-legalese Terms.
  5. Enter the requirements in the Instruction field, then select the content for summarizing the contract from the following options:
    1. Entire Document
    2. All Clauses
    3. Specific Clauses
  6. Click Submit to summarize the selected clauses.
  7. Click  to copy the generated suggestions to the clipboard.
  8. Paste the summarized clauses in the contract document, then click More  at the top-left corner of the document editor to format the text.
  9. After you author the document, click Draft Complete at the top-right corner of the contract details page.

Highlight Potential Risks in the Contract

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click to open the contract in which you want to identify potential risks.
  3. Click AI Assistant at the top right corner. 
  4. Click Highlight Potential Risks.
  5. Enter the requirements in the Instruction field, then click Submit to identify the potential risks in the contract.

Highlight Meta Details in the Contract

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click to open the contract from which you want to identify meta details.
  3. Click AI Assistant at the top right corner. 
  4. Click Highlight Meta Details.
  5. Enter the requirements in the Instruction field, then click Submit to identify the meta details in the contract.

Summarize Key Milestones in the Contract

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click to open the contract for which you want to summarize key milestones.
  3. Click AI Assistant at the top right corner. 
  4. Click Summarize Key Milestones.
  5. Enter the requirements in the Instruction field, then click Submit to summarize the key milestones in the contract.

Ask a Specific Question in the Contract

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click to open the contract where you want to ask questions.
  3. Click AI Assistant at the top right corner. 
  4. Click Ask a Specific Question.
  5. Enter the requirements in the Instruction field, then choose the content to generate a response from the following options:
    1. Entire Document
    2. All Clauses
    3. Specific Clauses
  6. Click Submit to generate the response.

Review Changes for Risks and Compliance

  1. Select the Contracts tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click to open the contract that is in the Negotiation Received state, in which you want to identify the risks and compliance based on the redlines.
  3. Click AI Assistant at the top right corner. 
  4. Click Review Changes for Risks and Compliance.
  5. Enter the requirements in the Instruction field, then click Submit to identify the changes made to the contract and discover any deviations from standard terms and potential risks.
