Managing record comments

Learn how to configure record comments and manage permissions for both application and portal users to view and add comments.

Availability

  1. Record comments are available only for the paid plans of Creator. 
  2. Record comments can be managed(give other users permissions) by the super admin, admins, and developers while other users can access, view, and add the comments depending on their permissions.

1. Steps for managing record comments

1.1. Add record comments

To add record comments, follow the steps below:
  1. Navigate to the report in your application and select a record.
  2. Click Add a comment to add a new comment to that record.
  3. Enter your comment in the editor and click Comment.
    Users can also tag application and portal users respectively in their comments. Learn about tagging them in a record comment.
  4. You can reply to or delete a comment by selecting the respective button below the comment.

1.2. Comment permissions

To set comment permissions for users and portal users, follow the steps below:
  1. Navigate to Settings at the top of the page, next to Workflow in the application edit mode.
  2. Select either User Permissions or Portal User Permissions to configure comment permissions for application users and portal users, respectively.
  3. Select the permission you want to edit.
  4. Select Read comments and/or Write comments, according to your preference.
  5. Click Update, which is shown at the end of the permission table.

2. Points to note

  1. Record comments are available for both application and portal users based on permissions.
  2. Users and portal users can delete their own comments.
  3. Admins and super admins can delete any comment in the record or all the comments in a thread.
  4. Users and portal users can manage your notifications from record comments in notification preferences.
