View Signals
The Signals that are triggered will notify you in the respective channels.
๐ In Zoho CRM, you can find Signals under the bell Icon on the top-right bar of the interface.
๐ It will list all the notifications you received as notifications, in a slider pane.

๐ Further, if you click on each notification, youโd get a preview about the notification including the record details the notification is related to. You can preview the correspondence you received the Signal for, expand lead/ contact details or collapse.

In a nutshell, you can get all the correspondence chronologically organized and listed.
Exploring the types of Signals you get in Zoho CRM
Note: Signals are result of an event connected with your CRM. That said, to get notified of important events in your business ecosystem, we recommend to ensure you connect the desired applications and touchpoints, either from Zoho or other third-party services with Zoho CRM.
Signals for emails
In Zoho CRM, there are two types Signals for emails
- Email
- Email insights
Email signals come as part of integrating emails with Zoho CRM and there are two types of email-based events available for the email signal:

- Incoming emails: Whenever you have incoming emails

- Competitor alerts:Whenever your email contains mentions of your competitors
This is what notifications for these two signals will look like:
The Signals that come as part of the native email service are:
- Open: Notifies when the recipient opens the email

- Bounce: Notifies when the email is bounced from the recipientsโ mailbox
- Click: Notifies when any email actions from within the mail content is clicked

Signal for Call
With Zoho PhoneBridge integration enabled in your CRM account or if you have Built-in Telephony configured, you can make and receive calls directly from your CRM account. In case if you have missed any calls, Signals can immediately notify the users about the missed calls.

Signal for Survey
When
integrated with Zoho Survey, you can solicit feedback and responses from your prospect and customers via multiple channels. Responses to those surveys can be tracked for quick actions via Signals. There are two events that come as standard Signals: Responded and Visited
- Responded survey notification indicates the recipient has submitted the survey form.
- Visited indicates the recipient accessed the survey, saw the form, and no actions were made.
Signals for Campaigns
Zoho Campaigns help you reach out to your prospects and customers and it is useful to make all your MQLs to enter the sales pipeline.
Integrating Zoho Campaigns with Zoho CRM will help you capture all those MQL and seamlessly get them inside the pipeline without any latency. And therefore, it is important for you to act promptly and Signals will help you capture the following events as they happen from within Zoho CRM:
Open, Click, Hard bounce, and Soft bounce.Signals for SalesIQ
Zoho SalesIQ is a customer engagement platform that can be plugged into various channels like websites and applications. It gives an interface for your customers to chat with you and you get to analyze their frequency, interest, behavior and take them through your sales pipeline. It stands directly at the marketing entry point, bridging your digital traffic and your sales funnel by engaging with your customers, the exact moment they discover your business.
If your agents happen to miss a chat, before it becomes missed opportunities, Signals help identify them. The standard event that Signals track as part of integrating SalesIQ with Zoho CRM is when you missed a chat.
Signals for Desk
Zoho Desk is primarily a help desk platform that helps you manage your customersโ support requests and serve them through scheduled and on-demand services.
Integrating Zoho Desk with Zoho CRM will help resolve queries, inquiries, and escalations of prospects and customers through out their lifetime. Coming as part of this integration, events like
New ticket, New comment, New response, Ticket overdue, Ticket Escalated, New rating, and Mention, help capture customers interactions using Signals.
Signals for Facebook
When integrated with Facebook via Zoho Social, Zoho CRM can capture social interactions from your business page directly as Signals. This helps your team stay on top of social engagement without switching platforms. The events tracked are: Post, Comment, Like, and Direct Message.
- Post notifies you when a new post is made on your connected Facebook page.
- Comment notifies you when someone comments on your posts.
- Like notifies you when someone likes your post or page content.
- Direct Message notifies you when a prospect or customer sends a private message to your page.

Integrating Twitter with Zoho CRM via Zoho Social, allows you to monitor and respond to social conversations around your brand in real time. The events that Signals track from Twitter are: Mention, Reply, and Direct Message.
- Mention notifies you when your handle is mentioned in a tweet.
- Reply notifies you when someone replies to one of your tweets.
- Direct Message notifies you when a user sends you a private message on Twitter.

Signals for Backstage
Zoho Backstage is an event management platform that helps you plan and run professional events. Integrating Backstage with Zoho CRM allows you to track attendee activity and act on it promptly within your sales pipeline. The events tracked via Signals are: Ticket Purchased, Checked In, and Ticket Cancelled.
- Ticket Purchased notifies you when a registrant completes a ticket purchase for your event.
- Checked In notifies you when an attendee checks into your event.
- Ticket Cancelled notifies you when a registrant cancels their ticket.
Signals for Webinar
When integrated with Zoho Webinar, Zoho CRM can capture registrant activity as Signals, enabling your team to follow up with prospects at the right moment. The event tracked is: Registered.
- Registered notifies you when a prospect or customer signs up for one of your webinars.
Signals for Business Messages
Business Messages integration allows you to receive customer messages from business messaging channels directly within Zoho CRM. The event tracked is: Incoming Message.
- Incoming Message notifies you when a customer sends a message through a connected business messaging channel.
Viewing custom signals (Example: Mail chimp)
Beyond the default signals that come with Zoho CRM's native integrations, Zoho CRM allows you to create your own custom signals, trigger them using a function or an API from a third-party application, and display them either as a widget or in Zoho CRM's default view.
Learn more This is what makes services like MailChimp visible in your Signals Settings โ they are custom signals built to track events from external applications that don't have a native Zoho integration.
To create a custom signal:
- Go to Setup > Experience Center > Signals and click Create your Own Signal. The Create New Signal box opens. Learn more.
- Fill in the following details:
- Label โ The display name of the signal you want to create. This is a mandatory field.
- Service โ The name of the service you want to receive notifications from โ the third-party app where the event occurs. You can choose from previously created services or create a new one.
- Namespace โ A unique, system-generated identifier for the custom signal used to trigger it from a custom function or API. This field cannot be modified.
- Signal Icon โ An icon to visually represent your custom signal.
- Trigger Signal via โ The method to invoke the signal: either via an API or through a Function.
- Function โ Displayed when you choose to invoke the signal through a function. This lists functions of the type "Signals". If none exist, you can create one from here.
- Webhook URL โ The webhook URL for the function that will trigger the signal. You must register this URL with the third-party service so that it calls back to Zoho CRM when an event occurs.
- View Signal Details through โ Choose how you want to view the notification: in the default CRM view or through a dedicated widget.
- Widget โ Displayed when you choose the widget view option. Lists widgets of the type "Signals". If none exist, you can create one from here.
- Once saved, the custom signal is added to the list of signals on the Signals Settings page โ exactly where you will find services like MailChimp alongside Zoho's native integrations.
- Note: One custom signal you add represents one event. If you want to capture more events from MailChimp, then separate custom signals must be created.
Signals for MailChimp(Custom Signal)
MailChimp is an example of a custom signal configured to track email marketing activity from MailChimp within Zoho CRM. The event tracked is: Email Subscription.
Email Subscription notifies you when a contact subscribes to your MailChimp mailing list, giving your sales team an immediate prompt to follow up with a newly engaged prospect.
Note: One custom signal accounts for one event only. To capture more than one events from a particular service, respective number of custom signals must be created.
