Others - Delimiters, Respondent IP & Form Submission

Delimiters
Delimiters are the characters used to indicate the separation between two different elements under the Name and Address fields. These characters will be reflected while viewing form responses under All Entries, Reports, Approvals, etc.
For example, if you have selected Comma as the delimiter for your Name field, then the First Name and Last Name, say Richard and Johnson, will be stored with a comma separator in between.
To set the delimiters for your form's Name and Address fields,
- Navigate to Settings > General > Others > Delimiters.
- Select the types of delimiters (Comma, Space, Newline or Semicolon) to be used for the Name and Address fields respectively.
- If you wish to use any other character, select Others and enter a character of your choice. You can enter a maximum of 5 characters as the delimiter.
- Click Save.
Respondent IP
To collect your form respondent's location details, navigate to Settings > General > Others > Respondent IP.
Under Respondent IP, you can choose to collect the IP address of your respondents when they submit your form.
Zoho Forms can capture the public IP addresses users submit their entries from. In compliance with the data privacy guidelines of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the IP addresses will not be captured by default. The forms you create will capture your users' IP addresses on form submission only if you select Yes to collect your respondents' IP address when they submit your form.
If you're capturing IP addresses on your forms, we recommend that you clearly inform your users about why you require their IP address in the form instructions , and how will this data be used and processed downstream. In the context of GDPR:
- IP address is considered personal data — data that relates to a natural person.
- The Data Subjects (your users) have the right to be informed on why their personal data (IP address) is required, and how it will be stored and processed downstream.
- You are the Data Controller for all apps in your workspace, and it's your responsibility to inform them what you are capturing, and proceed only when you have a lawful basis to do so.
