How to use the values assigned to choices in Formulas, Email Notifications, Thank You page, and Integrations?
Take an order form, for instance. How do you calculate the amount to be paid by your customer?
Here's how you can achieve this in detail :
-
Build an order form with the required fields. (Check out the tips to build a good order form). Choose a choice-based field, like Dropdown, Radio, or Image Choices to list your products.
- Under the
Properties
of the choice-based field, go to
Advanced
>
Assign Values. Enter the numeric or text values for each choice and save. Note that these assigned values should be equal to the payment amount you want to collect.

- Now, add a Formula field to your form. You can set the formula as
Product selected * Quantity
, where the numeric
value assigned
to the selected
choice is taken for the calculation.

Then, choose the Formula field to autofill the calculated amount in the
Payment field and collect the required payment.
Want to send the order details to your respondents via email?
Configure the email notification template under the Settings tab. You can choose to include the numeric or text values assigned to the choices of a field in the Subject
and Message of the email by clicking the merge icon and selecting <field> - Numeric
or <field> - Text as required.
Want to thank your respondents for their order?
Redirect your respondents to a
Thank You page upon submitting your order form. While setting up the thank you page, you can choose to include the respondent's order details as a summary by
using the
Rich Text option. Click the merge icon and select the required fields. You can include the numeric or text values assigned to the choices of a field by selecting
<field> - Numeric
or
<field> - Text
as required.
Want to push the order details into another application?
Integrate your order form with the
other
applications you use and instantly push the order details to the application
up
on each form submission! You can also push the numeric or text values assigned to the choices of a field by selecting
<field> - Numeric
or
<field> - Text
as required.
