Adding a command widget in an overview dashboard
Once a command is added to a managed entity instance (device, asset, location), you can create a widget on the overview dashboard based on this command, from which you can execute the command.
To create a command widget,
- Access the Developer Application.
- Select Asset or Devices or Location in the left pane based on the model to which you want to add the command template. For this illustration, Device is selected.
- Click on the name of the device model you want to the command widget. For this illustration, the device model: Smart Equipment is selected.
- Select Overview Dashboard in the left pane.
- Click on Add Widgets.
- Select Commands in the widget type library of the New Widgets form.
- Click the type of command you want to include and click Proceed. For this illustration, the command widget Horizontal Slider widget for the Fan Speed command is selected, as the widget type should be the same as the command input type.
- Provide a required details in the appropriate fields. For this illustration, the command template: Fan Speed is selected.
- Click Create.
A new command widget of the selected type will be added to the overview dashboard template in the model and a command based on it will be included in all instances of the selected model.
