Configuring Modbus Settings for EM6400NG

With the physical setup complete and the WAN port enabled on the TRB246 device, you can now remotely configure the RS485 port settings of the connected TRB246 gateway and set up the required Modbus registry mapping for the EM6400NG energy meter.

Notes
Note: If you are not on the MyTRB246 information page, you can access it by navigating to Devices > Devices > MyTRB246.

To configure the settings, 
  1. In the MyTRB246 device's information page, go to Actions > Scroll Down > Edge Agent Configuration.



  2. Click Configure.



  3. Click Next.



  4. Click Map Peripheral.



  5. In the Peripheral Addition form, select RS 485 as the connectivity between the gateway and the peripheral device.



  6. Provide the port details of the RS 485 port in the gateway.

    Serial Port Name : /dev/ttyS1
    Baud Rate : 9600
    Parity : even
    Data bit : 8
    Stop bit : 1



    NotesNote: These port settings must match the setting of the connected peripheral device.
  7. Select Modbus RTU as the protocol used for communication between the gateway and the peripheral.



  8. Click Next.



  9. Select CONZER EM6400NG + in the product field.



  10. Provide the details of the connected energy meter.

    Name : MyCZ6400
    Slave Id : 1
    Edge Key : cz_6400_01
    Timeout : 500



  11. Click Add.



  12. The configuration will be added.



  13. Click Deploy to send the configuration to the connected TRB246 gateway.



  14. Click the refresh icon to see the status of the deployment.



  15. Once successfully deployed, click Ok.



  16. In the MyTRB246's information page, select the messages tab.



  17. Toggle to Historic messages.



  18. Click on any of the message id to view the received JSON payload. 



  19. Click Ok to close the payload dialog box.


With the payload messages now received from the TRB246 device, you can proceed to visualise the collected energy meter data in the Zoho IoT dashboard.
