SMS Campaigns Sender Address

SMS Campaigns Sender Address

Sender addresses are custom names or codes that your recipient receives instead of a phone number when they get a text message from you. These names or codes will help you get brand recognition and increased message open rates. The globally accepted sender address types include:
  1. Alphanumeric sender ID – The Alphanumeric sender ID is a combination of both alphabets and numbers. It can be a combination of uppercase letters (A - Z), lowercase letters (a - z) and numbers (0 - 9). For example,
    (i) ZylkerFest is a combination of uppercase and lower case letters.
(ii) 123Zylker is a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, and numbers.
  2. Numeric sender ID – On the contrary, displays a set of digits (0 - 9) when your recipient receives a text message. For example, +919876543210.

Long code
Long codes or 10DLC (10 Digit Long Code) are the normal 10-digit phone numbers that can be used to send bulk SMS messages and make voice calls. It is somewhat similar to the phone numbers we have for personal use, except these 10DLCs are used for business purposes.

It is also referred to as A2P (Application to Person) 10DLC, as business messages are sent to prospective customers via an application. Using a long code can improve SMS deliverability, reducing the chances of your messages being filtered out.

Long codes can be used to send:
  1. Chats (text and voice messages)
  2. Event based interaction
  3. Service update
  4. Reminder for appointments
