You cannot edit the service admin. There needs to be at least one service admin in the app.
Description
You may encounter this error when you try to edit the role of the owner of the following Zoho app
- Analytics
- Assist
- Sites
For ease of understanding, let's assume that X refers to one of the above-mentioned apps.
Prerequisites
Role that requires to perform the action:
- Organization Owner
- Organization Admin

Reason
The following flow will result in the above message being displayed.
- Sign in to Zoho One, then click
on the top right corner. - Click Applications, then click X.
- Under Members, hover over the owner of the app.
- Click Edit.
The message gets displayed since X requires a dedicated
app owner who holds special privileges in the app and any attempt at
directly editing the owner's role will result in an error.
Solution
Instead of editing the role of the current owner of the app directly, follow the below steps to change the owner:
- Sign in to Zoho One, then click Directory in the left menu.
- Click Applications, then click the app whose owner you want to change.
- Click Change Owner, then choose the new owner of the app.
- Click Change.
Once the new owner has been assigned to X, you can assign any other role to the previous owner.
By default, the previous owner will become a normal user without any special privileges.
