What is Biometric Device Integration in Attendance?

Biometric Device Integration in Zoho People enables organizations to automatically sync attendance data captured by biometric devices (such as fingerprint scanners, face recognition systems, palm readers, and more) directly into the Attendance service in Zoho People.

Instead of manually entering or uploading attendance records, this integration ensures that employee check-in and check-out data flows seamlessly from the biometric hardware into Zoho People, keeping attendance records accurate and up to date in real time.

How is Biometric Device Integration useful, and who is it intended for?

  1. Administrators
    The administrators are responsible for setting up and maintaining the biometric integration. This can be done via API or Plugin method, in which the administrators could map the biometric ID with Zoho People employee ID and synchronization of the biometric system with Zoho People.

  2. Managers
    The managers can monitor the real-time attendance status of their reportees using the biometric punches synced into Zoho People. This allows them to view the absence status, process regularization requests, and more under Attendance (left-side tab) > Team Data.

  3. All Employees
    Attendance punches recorded using the biometric device would be automatically synced to attendance logs in Zoho People. This eliminates the need for manual check-ins. Employees can view their attendance history, check-in/check-out times, and more under Attendance (left-side tab) > My Data.
