What are Email Alerts in Zoho People?
Email alerts in automation are predefined email notifications triggered by specific actions or events within a workflow. These alerts are used to keep users informed, provide updates, or request actions based on the trigger events in the workflow. For instance, sending an email to a manager when a leave request is submitted or notifying an employee when their status is updated in Zoho People.
How to Automate Email Alert in Zoho People
- Create the necessary Email Alerts for a form under the Automation > Actions section of the service and associate them to a workflow.
- Whenever a workflow trigger event occurs, the email alert is triggered to notify users
Set up Email Alert in Zoho People
- Navigate to Settings > Select a Service > Automation > Actions > Email Alerts.
- Click Add Email Alert.

- Select the Form for which you would like to create an Email Alert.
- Enter the Email alert name and description.
- In the message section, specify the following:
- From address
- To address
- Subject of the email (you can add form fields in the subject)

Select the body of the email from the dropdown.

You can choose existing email template from the dropdown or Click Add new email template form the dropdown to add new Email Template. To manage email template for the form, refer
to Add Email Templates.- In the Attachments section, select the file that has to be sent along with the email.


Attachment file can be uploaded from Desktop, Cloud Picker (Google Drive, Dropbox, Onedrive, Box, Evernote. or you can also use Letter Templates or Mail Merge templates that are already created for the form as Email attachment.
Click Save.
An Email Alert has been created for the form. Map the email alert to a workflow to trigger it based on the workflow trigger actions.
Map Email Alert to a Workflow
To map an Email Alert to a Workflow:
- From your home page, navigate to Settings > Select a Service > Workflows > Add Workflow.

- Provide all the required details, define workflow trigger events. Learn more to configure Workflow.

Under Actions, in the Email Alert click the (
+) add icon to add a new Email Alert to the workflow or you can select the existing Email Alert which has been created for the form.

- Click Add.
A workflow is created, whenever trigger event occurs, the email alert is triggered.

To stop a mail alert triggered through the workflow, navigate to the respective workflow and remove the Email Alert.
