Close Organization

Closing Your Organization Account in Zoho People

Follow the steps here to initiate closing your organization's account in Zoho People. We recommend careful consideration before proceeding with closing your Zoho People account. 
Alert
Only the Super Administrator can perform this action. Exercise caution before proceeding with closing your Zoho People organization account, as this step cannot be reversed. If you require any other assistance, contact support@zohopeople.com.

Steps to close your organization account

  1. Navigate to Settings (gear icon on the top-right corner) > Manage Accounts.
  2. Open Close Organization option.

  3. Click Verify Now to proceed with verifying your identity by entering your credentials. Click Confirm Password
  4. Now go back to Zoho People and click Close Organization again to proceed.
  5. You will be presented with the Close Organization wizard page with several steps. Follow the steps to proceed with closing your organization account.
  6. Step 1 of the wizard involves taking a backup of your account. Proceed with a data backup by clicking the Data Backup option. If you do not wish to take a data backup, or if you have already completed it, enable the checkbox to mark this step as completed. You will see a confirmation pop-up when enabling the checkbox. Click Confirm to proceed.

Data backup can be performed from Settings > Data Administration > Data Backup page. (This feature is only available for Enterprise plan users). Learn more about data backup. If you're using another plan, you can still use the Export option available within the Operations page of each service to export your records.
  1. Step 2 of the wizard involves reverting back to the free plan of Zoho People. Click on the Manage Subscription link to navigate to store.zoho.com, where you can revert to the free plan.

  2. Step 3 of the wizard involves acknowledging the immediate disabling of your employee's Zoho People user accounts following the account closure. This would mean your employees will no longer be able to log into Zoho People. Enable the checkbox to complete this step. (the actual disabling of accounts will happen after the last step is completed.)
  3. If your organization account is part of the Zoho One bundle, you will be required to disassociate your account from the bundle by contacting support@zohoone.com. This step is only valid for Zoho One bundle users.
  4. If you are using multiple organizations within the same account, you will see a final "Organization Setup" card, which will allow you to select another organization as the default organization before closing this organization. If your account is only associated with one organization or if only the default organization remains, this step will automatically be skipped.
  5. Finally, click Close Organization. You will see a confirmation pop-up. Enable the checkbox and click Confirm to proceed.
