Gantt charts offer a visual representation of an activity's timeline allowing Project Managers to have an overview. It helps manage schedules and view dependencies. The Gantt chart also allows users to visualize the sequence of activities in a project and help them plan better.

In the Phase Gantt view, you can view the projects and phases on the left and the corresponding bars on the right that show the actual schedule.

The Phase Gantt in Zoho Projects allows users to
  1. View Phase timeline
  2. View phase deadlines by clicking on the bar
  3. Open the phase details
  4. Perform actions such as adding, editing, deleting, cloning phases and more.

Access Phase Gantt View 

  1. Navigate to the left panel and click Projects.
  2. Hover over the project for which you would like to access phases and click Access Project.
  3. Click the Phases tab in the top navigation band.
  4. Select Gantt from the view selection drop-down.
  5. Scroll through the left panel to view phases in your project.
  6. Click Full Screen, Show Options, Legends, Export to PDF, and Print option in the right panel.
  7. Use the Show Options drop-down to select additional details such as Dates, Assignee, Task Title, and Overdue tasks and view them on the Gantt chart.

Notes
Note:
  1. Only projects with start and end dates will be shown on the Gantt chart.
  2. You can use the filters to view projects matching specific criteria.

Add Phase

  1. Navigate to the left panel and click Projects.
  2. Hover over the project and click Access Project.
  3. Click the Phases tab in the top navigation band.
  4. Select Gantt from the view selection drop-down.
  5. Click Add Phase.
  6. Enter the Phase Name and enable the checkbox if you want to clone from an existing phase.
  7. Set Flag, Owner and add relevant tags. 
  8. Enter the Start Date and Due Date.
  9. Click Add.

Edit Phase

  1. Navigate to the left panel and click Projects.
  2. Hover over the project and click Access Project.
  3. Click the Phases tab in the top navigation band.
  4. Select Gantt from the view selection drop-down.
  5. Hover over the phase cell and click  or click the right mouse button.
  6. Select Edit from the context menu and update the necessary fields.

Clone Phase

Phases can be cloned to create a copy with Task Lists, Release Notes, Comments, Fields, and the latest status of the Phase for the same project or for use in another project. Cloning a Phase can be done within the same Project or from one Project/Project Template to another Project.
  1. Navigate to the left panel and click Projects.
  2. Hover over the project and click Access Project.
  3. Click the Phases tab in the top navigation band.
  4. Select Gantt from the view selection drop-down.
  5. Hover over the phase cell and click  or click the right mouse button.
  6. Select Clone from the context menu.

Follow Phase

  1. Navigate to the left panel and click Projects.
  2. Hover over the project and click Access Project.
  3. Click the Phases tab in the top navigation band.
  4. Select Gantt from the view selection drop-down.
  5. Hover over the phase cell and click  or click the right mouse button.
  6. Select Follow from the context menu.

Move Phase

  1. Navigate to the left panel and click Projects.
  2. Hover over the project and click Access Project.
  3. Click the Phases tab in the top navigation band.
  4. Select Gantt from the view selection drop-down.
  5. Hover over the phase cell and click  or click the right mouse button.
  6. Select Move from the context menu.
  7. Select a project from the drop-down.
  8. Click Move.

Trash a Phase 

  1. Click Phases in the left navigation panel or Click Projects > Phases in the top band.
  2. Select List from the view selection drop-down.
  3. Click on a phase to open it, click  in the top-right corner of the details page and select Trash.
  4. Confirm your action.
Trashed phases will be moved to the Recycle Bin and can be restored within 30 days.
Notes
Note: Phases that have tasks with invoiced time logs cannot be trashed.
