Project Configuration in Zoho Projects - Concept
At a project level, there are various strategies for managing tasks and adjusting the project duration. Due dates and dependencies of a task are some of the common changes you can make to modify the schedule of your project. These changes can be made at a project level, which means each project can have customized settings by default and can override the portal level setting.
For example, you are the lead of the Project Management team, and your team is currently working on a task named "Market Research". The next task would be "Product Development," which must be started only if the current task is completed. For this case, you can set an FS (Finish to Start) dependency as default to organize the progress, and enable the due date settings to provide flexibility to your team.
Dependency Setting:
There are four common types of task dependencies, and these can be set as the default setting for each of your project. The four types of dependencies are,
Finish-To-Start (FS)
Start-To-Start (SS)
Finish-To-Finish (FF)
Start-To-Finish (SF)
Due Date Setting:
The due date of a successor task can either be moved up or extended depending on the predecessor task.
