Use cases

Software development/ IT: A freelancer works on developing a feature and to ensure that the developer doesn't take more time on developing the feature, timers can be used. Freelancer just have to turn on the timer when starting to work, pause when he takes a break, and stop when he completes the task. These timers will be listed in a time log in the project.

 

HR: One of the interview rounds is a written test round. The HR can start the timer when the candidate starts with the written test and stop when the candidate finishes the test. Based on the time taken and the accuracy of the answers, the candidate can be selected or rejected.

 

Construction: Hourly billing is a standard procedure for site labourers. Using the time logs, administrator maintain track of the hours logged, and labours are paid according to the hours logged.

Benefits

1. View the summary of the Time Log information.
   
2. Navigate to the associated Task/Issue directly from the details page.
   
3. Modify the time log information based on the specified Time Log Layout.
   

Edit Time Log

1. Navigate to a project from the Recent Projects tab or from the project list view.
   
2. Click Time Logs in the top band.
   
3. Navigate to the time log and click on it to view the Time Log details page.
   
4. Change the necessary fields. The changes will be saved automatically.
   
   

Delete Time Log

1. Navigate to a project from the Recent Projects tab or from the project list view.
   
2. Click Time Logs in the top band.
   
3. Navigate to the time log entry and click on it to view the Time log details page.
   
4. Click  in the upper-right corner of the page.
   
5. Confirm your action.

Move Time Log from one Task to another

1. Navigate to a project from the Recent Projects tab or from the project list view.
   
2. Click Time Logs in the top band.
   
3. Select the time log which you want to move.
   
4. Click the Task name in the details page.
   
5. Select a task from the drop-down. The Time log will be moved to the selected task.

Move Time Log from one Issue to another

1. Navigate to a project from the Recent Projects tab or from the project list view.
   
2. Click Time Logs in the top band.
   
3. Select the time log which you want to move.
   
4. Click the Issue name in the details page.
   
5. Select a Issue from the drop-down. The Time log will be moved to the selected Issue.
