Portal User Intro
Users invited to a Zoho Projects portal and added to projects to execute tasks and resolve issues assigned to them are called Portal Users. They can be assigned roles, included in teams, collaborated and can be managed from the Users page. Select the portal user view from the view drop down on top left.
The portal users page has List view, Grid view and Tree view. Each view helps admins and managers access user details as per their requirement. List view enables easy details scanning with filters. Grid view helps with easy visibility and Tree view displays organized hierarchies for team recognition of users.
Manage Portal Users from List view
- Navigate to Users in the left navigation pane and go to Portal Users tab.
- In the List view, hover over a user, click
to View Details, View Details in New Tab, Copy Link, Re-invite, Edit, Deactivate, Delete, or Copy Email.
- Alternatively, right click on the user for these options.
- Use
to find specific users quickly.
- Click
to add new columns.
- Reorder the column by hovering over the field header and dragging it to the left or right.
- Right click on the field header to Apply Filter, Insert Column Before, Insert Column After or to Hide Column.
- Use
to search for and view users filtered by specific details.
- Click
on the top right and select Import Users, Import users to configure the user hierarchy and Export portal user.
- Import portal users from a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file. You can now bulk import users into your Zoho Projects portal using CSV files.
- Export portal users to a xlsx or csv file
Bulk Update from List View
Users information can be updated in bulk for multiple users from the List view.
- Navigate to Users in the left navigation pane and go to Portal Users tab.
- In the list view, select the users and choose the field to update the details.
- Enter the updated details and click save.
The changes will be updated automatically.
Manage Portal Users from Grid view
- Navigate to Users in the left navigation pane and go to Portal Users tab.
- In the grid view, Hover over a user, click
to View Details, View Details in New Tab, Copy Link, Re-invite, Edit, Deactivate, Delete, or Copy Email.

- Use

In Zoho Projects, Users are further categorised into Client users, and Customers. The User profiles are categorised into User profiles, Client profiles, Viewer profile, Read-Only profile and Lite User profile.
