SMS Gateway
The SMS Gateway feature enables users to quickly send text messages to communicate with candidates or contacts. You can either send individual or bulk messages. Zoho Recruit supports four vendors to purchase credits to be used for sending these messages.
Note:
- The SMS Gateway feature is available for Professional and Enterprise plans of both the Staffing Agency and Corporate HR editions.
- Only users with the Manage SMS Templates permission can create SMS templates for candidates, contacts and users. The Administrator and Standard profiles have this permission by default. Custom Profiles can be granted this permission by cloning the Administrator or Standard profile.
- An organisation need not be restricted to any one SMS vendor. Members of an organisation can register with any SMS vendor of their choice.
- Contact numbers for candidates and contacts must be stored with their respective country code.
- An SMS message has a maximum of 500 characters.
Configure SMS Gateway
SMS Gateway enables recruiters to send mass and individual messages with recruitment details to candidates and contacts easily.
To configure this feature:
- Navigate to Setup > Telephony > SMS Gateway.
- Select the Country Code based on your candidates' or contacts' location.
Note: The country code entered here will be set as the default code while sending SMS to candidates. If you are sending messages to a mobile number with a different country code, you have to manually change the code before sending the SMS. - Select the SMS provider from the displayed list.
Note: You have to register with the selected SMS provider to purchase credits and use its service. Click here to learn how to register with our SMS vendors. - Enter the SMS provider details and click Authenticate & Save.
- SMSmagic: Username, Account ID, API Key, Phone Number
- Clickatell: API Key, Phone Number
- Message Media: API Key, API Secret
- Twilio: Account SID, Auth Token, Phone Number
- To change the default contact field, click Proceed. The Select Fields window will be displayed.
- Select the appropriate values from the Candidates and Contacts drop-down lists.
- Click Update. The updated fields will be displayed in the respective module details page.
