View Edit History

Edit History in Zoho Sheet allows you to track changes made in cells including details like the name of the person, timestamp, and the value they've added, deleted or modified. This can be highly beneficial if you're doing collaborative work, and want to track the changes your co-workers made.

Audit Trail is a similar tool that lets you view all the user actions made in the spreadsheet including the name of the user, timestamp, cell range, etc.

To view edit history:
  1. Select the cell you wish to track the changes.
  2. Go to View > Edit History.
  3. From the side pane that appears, you can view the details of the changes made.
  4. Alternatively, you can right click on the desired cell and select Edit History from the contextual menu.
The cell changes were captured only from Jan 20, 2023. Therefore, edits made after the said date will alone be available in the edit history.

List of spreadsheet actions for which edit history won't be available:
  1. Column/cell/row insertion/deletion.
  2. Change in cell formatting.
  3. Undo action on a cell that has a formula or related expression.
  4. Actions like duplicating a spreadsheet, saving as a new spreadsheet and copying a spreadsheet to a new spreadsheet.
  5. Reverted version of a spreadsheet.
