System Extension blocked for WorkDrive TrueSync (Mac devices with M1/M2 chip)

When installing the WorkDrive TrueSync app in Apple devices with an M1 or M2 chip, you may see a pop-up from Apple saying System Extension Blocked. System Extension must be allowed to use WorkDrive TrueSync.

Info
  1. The following steps are only applicable to Mac OS with an M1 or M2 chip.
  2. To determine whether your device has the M1 or M2 chip, select the Apple  icon at the top of your screen and choose About This Mac.



  3. If your device has an Intel-based processor, then follow the steps given in this article.
Alert
You must have administrator privileges on your computer to complete the steps given below.

To enable system extensions
  1. Click the Apple  icon at the top of your screen.
  2. Click System Settings and select Privacy & Security from the left pane.
    In the Privacy & Security tab, navigate to the Security section.

  3. Select Enable System Extensions.



    A pop-up will appear asking you to modify your security settings in recovery mode.



  4. Click Shutdown.

Restart your computer in recovery mode and set security policy

  1. Press and hold the power button on your Mac device until you see “Loading startup options”.
  2. Click Options, then click Continue.


  3. If requested, enter the password for an administrator account.
  4. In the Recovery app, choose Utilities > Startup Security Utility.



  5. Select the system you want to use to set the security policy.
  6. If the disk is encrypted with FileVault, click Unlock, enter the password, then click Unlock.
  7. Click Security Policy.
  8. Select Reduced Security, then enter your administrator username and password.
  9. Mark the Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers checkbox.



  10. Click OK.
  11. Restart your computer.

Allow system extension for WorkDrive TrueSync
  1. Click the Apple  icon at the top of your screen.
  2. Click System Settings and select Privacy & Security from the left pane.

    In the Privacy & Security tab, navigate to the Security section, where you will find the following dialog box:
    System software from developer "Benjamin Fleischer" has been updated.



  3. Click the Allow button next to that information.
  4. Restart your computer.
