Upgrade from an individual account to a team account
With a WorkDrive individual account, you can securely create, store, and collaborate on your personal files with limited storage space (5 GB).
A WorkDrive team account gives you a secure shared space where you and your team members can store, create, manage, and collaborate on files and folders more effectively. Additionally, a team account gives you complete control over your team members and their data. Compare team plans.
Note: You cannot have both individual and team accounts using the same email address.
Once your account is converted to a Team plan, you cannot switch back to the Individual plan later.

If you want to switch from the Individual account to a Team account, you’ll need to purchase a paid WorkDrive Team plan (Starter, Team, or Business). During this upgrade for Individual accounts with a paid storage add-on, any existing Individual storage add-on subscription will be canceled, and the unused amount will be prorated and adjusted against your new plan cost.
If you're considering moving from an individual WorkDrive account to a team account, here are the steps you'll need to take:
- Go to www.zoho.com/workdrive and sign in with your WorkDrive Individual account credentials.
- Click your profile picture in the top-right corner of the window and select Plan Details.
- Click on the Upgrade your account button at the bottom of the page. The Upgrade to Team Edition page will open in a new tab.
- Enter a team name and click on the Move files and upgrade button. The Invite Members screen will appear.
Notes: - Once you upgrade, the data stored in the My Folders space in your individual account will be moved to the corresponding My Folders space in your team account.
- By default, you will become the Super Admin of the team.
- Enter the email addresses of the users you want to invite to your team. Mark the appropriate check box in the role column to assign the Admin role, and click Invite Members.
Note: You can skip this step and invite members to your team at another time.
When you follow the above steps, your individual account will be converted to a team account without any data loss.
Once the account is converted, a 15-day free trial of our highest team plan (Business plan) will be enabled for you. You can upgrade your account to a paid plan anytime before the trial ends.
Note: A user can join multiple teams and they can switch teams at any time by clicking the team name in the top-left corner and selecting the required team.
