Create ZIP files

Create ZIP files to back up multiple files and folders in WorkDrive. You can download the ZIP file to your computer at any time and extract its contents when needed.



Notes
  1. ZIP file creation is available only for Team plans. It is not supported in Individual plans.
  1. ZIP file preview and extraction within WorkDrive are available only in the Business plan. Check the details of all plans of WorkDrive here.

Create a ZIP File

  1. Open My Folders or a Team Folder from the left navigation pane.

    Note:
    You can also create ZIP files from the Recent Files, Favorites, and Labels sections.

  2. Select the files and/or folders you want to include in the ZIP file.

  3. Click the More Actions icon in the top action bar and select More Options.
    Alternatively, right-click the selected items and choose More Options.

  4. Click Zip. Create Zip dialog box will appear.

  5. Enter a new file name if required.
    By default, the ZIP file name follows the format:
    Zip file + Date + Time

  6. Choose a destination folder for the ZIP file, if necessary, and click Create.

  7. Once the ZIP file is created successfully, click the Finder icon in the bottom-right corner to open its location.

Preview a ZIP File

  1. Navigate to the ZIP file and select it.
  2. View the files and folders contained within the ZIP file.

ZIP Preview Requirements
  1. Supported format: .zip
  2. Maximum preview size: 2 GB

Download a ZIP File

  1. Select the ZIP file.
  2. Click Download in the top action bar to save it to your computer.

Extract a ZIP File

  1. Open the ZIP file in preview.
  2. Click Extract To.
  3. From the location dropdown, choose one of the following destinations:
    1. My Folders
    2. Shared with Me
    3. Favorites or
    4. A Team Folder
      You can also create a new folder in any of the above destination.
  4. Click Extract.

Notes
  1. In case of any interruption due to network error or page refresh, the zip action will still continue to take place in the server, and the ZIP will eventually be created in the given location.
