How to add Zoho Analytics as a data source in merge templates

Overview

The integration between Zoho Writer and Zoho Analytics allows you to transform static business reports into data-driven documents. By connecting Zoho Analytics as a data source, you can seamlessly specific chart and view's fields directly into your Writer merge templates. This ensures your reports always feature the latest data and insights without any manual updates.

Prerequisites

Permissions: Valid access permission to the specific Zoho Analytics workspace containing the views
Connection: A connection must be configured with the following scope: ZohoAnalytics.data.READ. Learn more about creating connections

Steps

How to configure Zoho Analytics as a data source

1. Open your merge template in Zoho Writer

2. In the Automate pane, under Select Data Source, click + Add a data source to get started.

3. Click Custom Source > Gallery > Zoho Analytics fields

4. In the script editor that appears,

Enter the Organization ID and Workspace ID
Update the Connection Name with the one you configured using the ZohoAnalytics.data.READ scope.

5. Click Save & Link function.

How to insert views in Zoho Writer merge template

1. Once linked, your charts and views will be listed under the Manage Fields section.

2. Simply click or drag the necessary fields to place them in the template.
