How to insert and configure signer fields in Zoho Writer
Overview
Zoho Writer provides a variety of signer fields that allow signers to input required information such as signatures, initials, names, dates, checkboxes, radio buttons, and more. These fields can be placed on documents to guide signers through the signing process and ensure all necessary data is collected. Signer fields can be customized, set as required or optional, and conditionally displayed based on user input.
These fields can be placed across documents & templates: regular documents, fillable templates, merge templates, and sign templates
Prerequisites
- A Zoho Sign account integrated with Zoho Writer
Available Signer Fields
You can insert the following signer fields:

Signature, Initial, Stamp, Image
You can add up to a maximum of 15 signers.

Basic info

Full Name, Email, Sign Date, Company, Job Title

Input fields
|
Textfield, Custom Date, Checkbox, Radio, Dropdown, Attachments
|
Each field can be linked to a specific signer and includes customizable settings such as placeholder text, required/optional status, default values, and more.
Steps
- Open your document, merge template, or fillable template in Zoho Writer.
- To insert signer fields:
- Go to ☰ > Fields > Signer Fields under the Dynamic Fields section.
- In the Signer Fields panel:
- Click Add Signer to create signers.
- Select a signer and click a field to insert it into the document.
- To set field properties:
Click on any inserted field to configure: - Signer Details
- Specify if the field is optional
- Enable or Disable Resizing
- Placeholder text or default value (if applicable)

Error/Symptom: Unable to send documents for sign collection
Possible cause: Zoho Sign might not be integrated with your Writer account
